Banarasi is a fine variety of silk originated from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. It is famous for its golden and silver zari work. Banarasi is famous for silk sarees all over the world.

How to Judge the Authenticity of Banarasi 

Burning Test: Take a few threads from the material and burn it with a flame. Original Banarasi silk burns with smell of burnt hair.  When edges of real banarasi silk fabric burn, the flame is invisible and it will stop burning as soon as the flame is removed.


Care Instructions of Banarasi

  • Wash in cold water and use mild detergent.

  • Dry the fabric inside out to avoid direct sunlight.

  • Expose it to sunlight to prevent the color and shine of the fabric.
