It is a 2 day workshop conducted to engage with an audience who do not have any prior knowledge of pattern making, or for those that want to refresh the skills they have already learned. 

This is a great opportunity for beginners who want to learn the basics of pattern drafting and introduce you to the world of Pattern Making.

 

 

About the Workshop

 

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn

  1. The technique involved in drafting patterns
  2. Cloning patterns from existing garments
  3. Ability to draft patterns from scratch 

 

Day 1 Introduction to pattern making
Tools used in pattern making
Important terms in pattern making (grainline, darts, ease, grading, difference between a sloper, pattern and blocks)
Analyzing the human body and its relationship to pattern making
How to take your own measurements?
How to clone a pattern from an existing garment
How to trace it on another fabric and optimizing fabric use using folding and implementing grainlines.
Day 2 Drafting a bodice pattern for your size

What will we do with the Registration Amount?
The total amount of the registration will go to the charity groups who work towards building and empowering the Artisans
