Patola sarees are the traditional hand-woven sarees which belong to the State of Gujarat. These embroidered sarees are extremely popular for their laudable designs and patterns. The Kantha Tales

Kantha embroidery, coming from small parts of West Bengal, is an amalgamation of old used fabrics to create a beautiful embroidered piece of fabric. 

Mostly done on old Cotton White sarees, the beauty of these lies in their border which is made from different color threads of old sarees.

Check out Abraham and Thakore Kantha sarees from his Amazon India Fashion Week’s Collection “Old New”. The Collection’s soul was completely recycled. Remains of used X-rays and Ct scans were used as sequins, their hooks and studs were used as ornamentation on clothes and old and used brocades and ribbons which were then recycled were used to decorate the saree borders.

Kanjeevaram sarees

Originating from the Kanchipuram town in Tamil Nadu, these sarees are extremely popular in South India and are one of the most expensive sarees available today. 

These sarees are made from pure mulberry Silk and are mostly ornamented with a zari border. The prints of these sarees are also inspired by ancient architecture like peacocks, ancient temples, etc.

Fashion Designer Santosh Parekh’s ‘Woven tales of Kanchipuram’ collection showcased sensational versions of the six-yard Kanchivaram weaves in various hues and prints. The collection also had metallic sarees based on ‘The Gold animal' and ‘The Gold Bridal’.

Such a divine collection of metallic and Kanchivaram weaves it was.
