Modal is a bio-based fabric made from spinning beech tree cellulose. Considered an eco-friendlier alternative to cotton, Modal is typically more sustainable because beech trees don’t require much water to grow, and thus the production process uses about 10-20 times less water. Also known as HWM rayon, the modal fabric is semi-synthetic as it is made from a blend of organic and synthetic materials.
