What is a Viscose filament?

Continuous strands of viscose rayon made from natural materials like wood pulp are chemically modified and used in the textile manufacturing process to create fabric.      

 

 

History

 

  • Viscose fabric was invented by Hilaire de Chardonnet who was a French scientist. 
  • In 1892, Charles Frederick, Edward John, and Clayton Beadle found the production method.
  • Viscose rayon was first produced in 1905.

  • Material made from viscose filament appears like silk and feels like cotton.
  • Light in weight and does not stick to the body.

How do you judge the Authenticity of Viscose?

 

  • Catches fire easily.
  • The burning smell of fabric is like burning leaves, after burning, the fabric feels like powder.

 


 

Care instructions

 

  • Apply mild detergent.
  • Store fabric away from sunlight.
  • Some viscose fabrics are instructed to use dry cleaning instead of washing.
  • Use low-temperature iron.
