Leheriya gets its name the word wave, typically called as ‘leher’ in Hindi. It produces patterns similar to water waves and hence called leheriya. Essentially a tie & dye technique, it is celebrated in various parts of Rajasthan. The process includes rolling the fabric diagonally and then tieing it at regular intervals; post the tying process the fabric is dyed to achieve the ripple-like patterns. It is an all time favourite craft amongst the Indian ethnic designers.
